Hi! I’m back!
How bad am I at uploading blogs when I’m busy? The answer is very bad. Soz. The past few months have been crazy, but in the best way! Not long after I started my blog, I got the amazing opportunity to train as Junior Costume Standby on an upcoming BBC drama that was being filmed in Belfast, which was very unexpected but very much welcomed.
I was working on this project for the best part of three months, and learnt so much so quickly, which was amazing. Plus, I got to work with a super-lovely team of experienced costume designers, supervisors and standbys, so the experience couldn’t have been more helpful. I’ll stop gushing now; but it was honestly an invaluable experience and I’m feeling super well equipped to carry on in the industry. Woo!
Tomorrow, I’m starting as a costume breakdown trainee on a very big, very well-known show that’s filmed in Belfast (I’ll let you figure that one out for yourself) and I couldn’t be more excited to get started; I’m a huge fan of the show and it’s been talked about extensively on the blog, so getting to see these costumes in person will be a huge treat as both a fan and a costumer, and I can’t wait to start training in breakdown, which I’ve always been interested in.
In between this, I’ve also moved into a new flat, supervised two theatre shows, did Christmas, went on holiday and finally got to see Star Wars: The Last Jedi which WAS AMAZING. (You get one guess as to the topic of my next blog)
So all I can say is sorry for being away for so long and expect more blogs and creative stuff coming very soon!
Can’t wait to get back into overanalysing everything with you all.
